What Does A Clogged Duct Feel Like?

Alright, listen up ladies! Breastfeeding is a beautiful and magical experience, but let's be real, it can also be a pain in the you-know-what. Especially when you get a clogged duct.

A clogged milk duct is a condition where the passage that carries breast milk to the nipple becomes obstructed, preventing the milk from flowing through the duct.

It’s like a traffic jam for milk on the lactation highway!

What Does A Clogged Duct Feel Like?

A clogged milk duct in the breast can feel like a tender, swollen lump or area of hardness in the breast tissue. The affected area may be painful or uncomfortable to the touch, and may feel warm or hot. OUCH!

The breast may also appear red or slightly inflamed in the area of the blockage. On top of that, your nipple on the affected side might be super sore or tender, and your milk flow could be reduced or blocked completely.

Some women may also experience flu-like symptoms, such as fever, chills, or fatigue.

That's why it's crucial to take care of a clogged milk duct ASAP to prevent further complications like mastitis.
